To get you started with studying Television News, you need to understand the medium and genre of television in the first place; where it started, when and the developments that have occurred in Television to date.

‍During Week 2 of this term you will undertake a personal research project on an aspect of television that interests you. You might like to think of topics such as:

  • ‍History of television in Australia

  • ‍History of Television in the world

  • ‍Women in television

  • ‍A profile of an early news anchor

  • ‍Television's role in the Melbourne Olympics

  • ‍History of a particular station

  • ‍Format of early television

  • ‍Television vs radio in the 1950s

‍You need to formulate a research question and create a wiki page posting you findings. Your findings should not just be "cut and paste", but rather you should choose a question that interests you and seek to write you own answer with help from internet sites.

‍The name of your page should be the question you have formulated and YOUR name should be on the page too!

‍You may like to use these sites to get you started:

‍* Television in Australia

‍* Impact of Television on Radio

‍* Australian Government website on television

‍Once you have decided on your research question, edit this page by adding your question to the table; don't double up on questions. Your wiki page should be ready for viewing by the end of Monday's lesson.
